The China Conference on Health Information Processing (CHIP) is an annual conference organized by the Medical and Health Information Processing Committee of the Chinese Information Processing Society of China (CIPS). It is one of the most important academic conferences in the field of health information processing in China. Focusing on interdisciplinary areas such as health informatics, medical informatics, and bioinformatics, CHIP brings together researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and government worldwide to share cutting-edge research, innovative ideas, and successful applications. The conference has been successfully held for eleven editions. The 12th China Conference on Health Information Processing (CHIP 2026) is scheduled to be held from October 30 to November 1, 2026, in Dalian, Liaoning, China.

Since 2018, the conference has continuously organized shared tasks on biomedical and health information processing (see http://cips-chip.org.cn/). These tasks cover a wide range of topics, including medical information extraction, terminology normalization, text classification, semantic similarity computation, clinical decision-making, medical causal inference, medical question answering, clinical trial patient recruitment, multimodal information processing, and the evaluation of medical large language models. Research based on CHIP shared task datasets has achieved significant impact, with more than 120 publications and over 1,000 citations.

In 2026, the conference will continue to organize shared tasks and further expand task types, including bioinformatics-related tasks, medical informatics-related tasks, and the re-evaluation of previous shared tasks (e.g., task upgrades, dataset expansion, or methodological comparisons). The theme of CHIP 2026 shared tasks is “Multi-Agent Systems and Intelligent Medicine”, aiming to provide a platform for evaluating technologies, algorithms, and intelligent systems. We sincerely invite task proposals from universities, research institutions, and industry partners worldwide. Organizers of accepted tasks and winning teams will be invited to submit conference papers and present their research results, technical methods, and practical experiences at the conference.
